Reverend Jean Gilberte, Deacon, LMT, RMT, HTP
Jean Gilberte resides in West Hartford, CT. Born in St. Agatha, ME, her parents are Oscar and Yvette Martin. She is the second of eight children. Her diverse life experiences have contributed to her current work with children.
For seventeen years, Jean had her own daycare center. Her career as a healing practitioner began years ago when she worked for a home care agency and hospice, assisting individuals and families through their recoveries.
Jean has taken undergraduate courses at CCSU for Art Therapy and Cambridge College for Human Services. When she became ill, she spent years educating herself on natural remedies and alternative therapies. She now uses a combination of formal training and her own personal experiences to assist others in their healing work, and currently has a practice where she utilizes her skills as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner of Healing and Therapeutic Touch. As a Reiki Master Teacher, she gives weekend workshops to adults, and especially to children 7 years and older. “What I love about teaching the children is watching them gain self-esteem and confidence in themselves.”
Jean was ordained a Deacon on May 31, 2009 for the American Ecumenical Church. She teaches the children of the parish about faith and acts as their personal mentor. She has had the good fortune of receiving massage and/or energy work from children of all ages.
Jean is the mother of three adult children and four grandchildren.
